Cottage by the Sea is proud to partner with organizations and companies that share our values. Over our 23-year history, we’ve hosted fundraisers and donated to organizations including the Down Syndrome Foundation, BEAM, and Mission House. We also offer a robust, non-discrimatory employment program, offering positions to those who might typically face barriers to employment, including the homeless.
Sustainability and strong company culture are also important to us, which is why we’ve offered Bramble Furniture since our inception. Bramble’s Java, Indonesia factory employs 1,200 skilled painters and craftsmen and ensures fair labor practices and a safe workplace (the company also pays well above industry averages, ensuring improved livelihoods for employees as well as the greater community). The company is also committed to the environment, planting more than one million trees in Java since 2005.
Cottage by the Sea launched in 1995, as a true cottage trade, with owners Joy and Dale hosting container sales at their homes. The business has grown since then, of course, finding a home in Jacksonville Beach more than two decades ago. Today, Cottage by the Sea continues to offer its vast selection of coastal-inspired furnishings in a wide range of colors and styles and finishes, including hand-painted, reclaimed and distressed wood pieces. In addition to hand-crafted furniture, we offer a wide range of chandeliers, lamps, artwork, and decorative elements, along with unique gifts. Sales are held often, new products arrive daily, and our staff is always happy to order something specific.
